Description: The dried tuberous roots are alterative, aphrodisiac, aromatic, bitter, carminative, demulcent, diuretic, tonic and restorative. Useful in gonorrhoea, dysuria, menorrhagia, leucorrhoea and menstrual derangements. The tuber forms an ingredient of several medicines intended to act as aphrodisiacs. Its preparations are widely used in treating erectile dysfunction, low libido, low sperm count and low sperm motility.
