It is considered analgesic, antibacterial, alexipharmic, anthelmintic, antidepressant, antiinflammatory, antimalarial, antiseptic, antispasmodic, antiviral, aromatic, carminative, cholagogue, diaphoretic, diuretic, expectorant, febrifuge, galactagogue, nervine, pectoral, stimulant, stomachic, thermogenic, tonic and vermifuge.
